Susanna Chapman illustrated The Girl Who Ran (Compendium, 2016), Elizabeth Warren’s Big, Bold Plans (Atheneum, 2020), Ada and the Galaxies (MIT Kid’s Press, 2021), Covered in Color: Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s Fabrics of Freedom (Abrams, 2022), and Busy Feet (Starry Forest Books, 2023). Covered in Color was a finalist for SCBWI’s Golden Kite award and was accepted into the Society of Illustrators. Two secret books are forthcoming in 2024 from Candlewick Press and Abrams.

She designed picture books in-house for a decade at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Candlewick Press, and HarperCollins. In 2019, she pivoted to illustration and muraling full-time and lives in Nashville with her husband and many old tubes of paint.
