Shannon Wright is a Richmond-based illustrator and cartoonist whose work has been featured in The Guardian, TIME, The New York Times, and NPR. She is the illustrator of picture books My Mommy Medicine written by Edwidge Danticat, I’m Gonna Push Through written by Jasmyn Wright, Holding Her Own: the Exceptional Life of Jackie Ormes written by Traci Todd, which received a Robert F. Sibert Honor and a Coretta Scott King Illustrator Honor, and Clothes to Make You Smile by Eric Darnell Pritchard (2026). Shannon also illustrated the graphic novel Twins written by Varian Johnson, which received five starred reviews.
