Ruth Chan

Ruth Chan is an illustrator and author who spent her childhood tobogganing in Canada, her teens exploring China, a number of years studying art and education, and a decade working with youth and families in underserved communities. She now writes and illustrates children’s books, including the Georgie and Friends series (Roaring Brook Press), The Alpactory: Ready, Set, Pack! (HarperCollins), and Thank You, Neighbor! (HarperCollins 2021).

She has also illustrated books including The Great Indoors (Little Brown Books for Young Readers) written by Julie Falatko, Hard Boiled Bugs for Breakfast (Greenwillow Press) by Jack Prelutsky, Have You Seen Gordon? (Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers) by Adam Jay Epstein, and the Mervin the Sloth series (Greenwillow Press) by Colleen AF Venable.

Ruth received her BA from Wellesley College and a Masters in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She now lives in Brooklyn NY.
