Lian Cho is a Brooklyn based illustrator born in Taiwan and raised in New Zealand. Lian enjoys creating charismatic characters in colorful compositions and often mixes a variety of mediums in her work. Lian illustrated Newbery Award winner Erin Entrada Kelly’s Lalani of the Distant Sea (Greenwillow Books) as well as her first picture book, The Oboe Goes Boom Boom Boom (Greenwillow Books). She is in the process of illustrating three more picture books from Dial Books (including IT BEGAN WITH LEMONADE in 2021 and 100 DRAGONS ALL NAMED BROCCOLI in 2022) and Greenwillow Books (A HUNDRED THOUSAND WELCOMES in 2021). Lian has also been published in the New Yorker and for Amnesty International. Lian spends her days working in her home studio or at her local bakery where she can be found hoarding croissants.
