Larry Day was born in Gibson City, Illinois, a rural farming community where he flunked high school art. Before becoming a storyboard artist and picture book illustrator, he drew art for arcade games, which included back glass, marquees, and playfields. Day is the illustrator of over twenty books for children and holds three Gold medals from the Society of Illustrators, the Golden Kite, a Golden Kite Honor, Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection, and numerous state awards and starred reviews. He lives in Carbondale, Colorado with his wife, author Miriam Busch.read more
