Júlia Sardà

Júlia Sardà, an illustrator in Barcelona, attended the Fine Arts University of Barcelona before working as colorist for Disney/Pixar merchandising. Following this, she created illustration and concept art for video game commissions, she considers the hardest and most useful part of her technical formation. Nowadays, Júlia is a children’s book illustrator for publishers in the U.S. and Europe. She’s had the chance to illustrate some of her favorite classics like “Alice in Wonderland”, “ The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” as well as contemporary stories in picture books like Duckworth the Difficult Child (Simon & Schuster) and The Liszts (Tundra). Her next illustration project, Moving the Millers’ Minnie Moore Mine Mansion, is forthcoming in 2023 (Candlewick).

Júlia has also illustrated non-fiction like Mary Who Wrote Frankenstein (Tundra) and One Fun Day with Lewis Carroll (HMH); her next book will be about Nikola Tesla. Júlia works in a studio with a lot of plants which she share with Hansel, her personal assistant and loyal cat.
