Jess is strongly influenced by vintage toys, slightly unnerving ceramic clowns, and candy wrappers. She loves illustrating all different kinds of characters and places–the weirder and wonkier the better. She does her best to bring joy to people through her work and her goal in life is to make drawings and stories that people want to get lost in. Her favorite books growing up were The Monster at the End of this Book by Jon Stone and Mike Smollin and Minnie and Moo Go to the Moon by Denys Cazet. Jess lives in Ontario, Canada, and spends most of her free time making too much banana bread and playing old fantasy video games.
