Hannah resides in Brooklyn, NY, where she writes and illustrates picture books. She also makes pottery, sculpture, and fine art. She teaches both art classes for young kids and illustration classes for undergrad students. Her work is rooted in a deep fascination with ecological systems and how we relate to the species who share our planet. The types of media she uses in her illustrations can vary greatly with each new story she works on.
Her debut picture book PACKS: Strength in Numbers was lauded as “Part natural science, part deep ecology, wholly captivating.” by Kirkus (STARRED review). Her forthcoming titles include ANCESTORY: The Mystery and Majesty of Ancient Cave Art (author/illustrator, Spring ’23), This Wolf Was Different (illustrator, Fall ’23), and Rain and the Reading Horse (illustrator, Fall ’23). Hannah is grateful to have a career creating for young people and, while it can be loads of fun, she doesn’t take the job lightly.
