Gael Abary is a first-generation Filipino American artist living in Kailua, Hawaii with her partner, their daughter, a cat, and a retired racing greyhound. She has worked in creative fields for decades and made her debut as a children’s book illustrator with CROW SPIRIT (2019), written by Debra Bartsch. Her next illustration project, IF YOU WANT TO RIDE A HORSE, written by Amy Novesky, is forthcoming with Neal Porter Books in 2024.
